Lasik eye surgery and advanced technology in Restor implant in Dallas
LASIK eye surgery is one of the most commonly performed vision correction procedures today. But not all LASIK Surgery Centers – or LASIK eye surgeons – are the same. When it comes to something as important as your vision, you should trust your LASIK Surgery to only the best
Both Dr. David Kleiman and Dr. Anthony Evangelista are both skilled, board-certified ophthalmologists with many years of experience in all aspects of vision care. They have successfully performed thousands of laser vision correction procedures for residents in the Dallas area.
A graduate of the University of Texas Medical School, Dr. Kleiman is the founder and medical of the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center and an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Evangelista received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and is certified in several advanced LASIK technologies, including the Visx Star S4 with CustomVue Technology.
The type of LASIK technology used to correct your vision also makes a difference. Kleiman-Evangelista Blade Free HD IntraLASIK is one of the safest, most precise methods used in laser vision correction today. This all-laser approach reduces complications, enhances safety and improves accuracy at every step, offering patients greater potential to achieve excellent results with 20/20 vision or better.
To best understand the benefits of Blade Free HD IntraLASIK, it’s important to know that LASIK is a two-step process. During the first step, the eye surgeon creates a small flap in the protective covering of the cornea. In step two, an excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea and correct vision errors.
For decades, doctors have used a hand-held surgical instrument called a microkeratome to create the flap. While the results have been excellent, there was also room for a margin of error. Blade Free HD IntraLASIK is a computer-controlled procedure. The IntraLase® FS creates a flap with uniform thickness and design every single time, reducing potential blade-related complications and further lowering any risk of infection. Blade Free HD IntraLASIK allows a wider range of candidates to qualify for the surgery because having thinner corneas or a higher degree of prescription error is no longer a concern.
Because of the IntraLase FS’s excellent track record, the U.S. Navy recently announced that it will allow eligible sailors and marines to receive what they are calling the “Cadillac of Vision Enhancement Surgery” free of charge.
During Blade Free HD IntraLASIK, the IntraLase femtosecond (FS) laser emits a cool laser light that passes harmlessly through the surface of the eye to a pre-determined point in the cornea. The laser produces a layer of tiny bubbles which gently lift and separate the tissue to create the corneal flap.
Once the Kleiman Evangelista laser vision correction is completed, the surgeon will move the flap back into place, where it reseats in the cornea without the need for stitches. The IntraLase FS creates a perfectly sculpted beveled edge on the flap, which enhances the seal and decreases the risk of complication or infection.
